I began piano lessons at the age of 6. My parents bought me a used piano from the Methodist church we attended for $50. My parents still have this piano in their home. I began piano lessons with Mrs. Nancy Dell, a Julliard student. I contiuned lessons with her until Mrs. Dell moved away. Then my parents took her to another teacher and I began to hate lessons with this techer because he only allowed me to play the Hannon exercises and nothing else. Bordem set in, and I quit lessons. My parents then signed me up with Mrs. Teresa Lucas and lessons were fun again! During my college years I took Piano Performance classes while pursuing a B.S. in Biology and a Chemisty minor. After graduation I worked as a Chemist for many years. Neighbors would always asked me to give lessons to their children and I started teaching once a week for a few kids. I would fill in on Sunday mornings for Rev. Dorthoy Chamberlain. She taught be how to play the hymnal. When we moved to Florida, there were no chemistry jobs here, and fate stepped in to push me towards teaching full time. I am now doing what I love!
